Join the BioTour adventure and explore America.
Who are Honorary Crew Members: Honorary crew members join BioTour in exploring America and participating in BioTour events. Honorary crew members can ride the bus for up one week (alternative arrangements are possible) participating in anything from presentation, excursions and hikes, dancing and gatherings and any spontaneous adventures that arise.
Passengers must be at least 21 years old. We encourage anyone interested to enter a request to become a temporary passenger, as BioTour is seeking to include a diverse group of honorary crew members from various regions of the country, different ethnic backgrounds, and all walks of life.
What to expect: Bring few expectations.
Although BioTour has a clear mission, defined goals, and scheduled events, we try to leave spare time open for spontaneous discovery and for the many local events that reveal themselves along the way. A week on the bus could include five presentations or zero. It could include driving hundreds of miles or a week of mostly camping and attending festivals. We may find a lively feast with music and dancing, or may find ourselves in a small town junkyard fixing a broken mechanical part. As we travel from one destination to the next, it is the spontaneous and unpredictable details that give life to the journey.
Getting a taste of life as a grease pirate, honorary crew members will help to fuel the vessel with waste fryer grease and participate in BioTour presentations and events. Members can expect to be welcomed into a community of cooperation, exploration and collective self-discovery.
Crew members can expect an escape from isolation and notion of consumption as entertainment and fulfillment. Members can expect to be welcomed into a community of cooperation, exploration and collective self-discovery.
Contributions:BioTour requests donations (link to donations page) from passengers ($0-100 per week), but no monetary contribution is required to join. BioTour is a sustainable project that reflects the effort of its participants, both crew and passengers. We expect crew members to join in the general work, such as cooking, cleaning, filling up on vegetable oil, navigating, map reading, and lending a hand when and where possible.

Spending Money and Food: Honorary crew members will join in shared d meals as part of the crew. We encourage new crew members to bring food to share with the group. Crew members should also have spending money for other possible expenditures.
Sleeping Arrangements:Crew members may sleep on the bus, in tents or under the stars (weather permitting).
What to Bring: Everything you need should fit into a backpack (some exceptions allowed with permission). Bring clothes, toiletries, and other necessities for the week. Bring a good book, a CD with songs you want to share with the crew, a sealable drinking vessel. (Snacks to share are encouraged.) Please email us with anything else you want to bring. Space on the bus is limited so the less you bring the more comfort for everyone.
Transportation to BioTour:Crew members who will meet us on the road are responsible for finding transportation to the bus and back.
